Jean and I (Dr. N) were fortunate to receive our first vaccination of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine today. My arm is a little sore from the injection, but Jean feels fine. We are excited to receive our 2nd booster vaccination in 3 more weeks.
Within a few weeks of the 2nd dose, we should have a robust immune response strong enough to prevent people from getting sick after exposure to coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). We personally see our vaccination as the beginning of our emotional recovery from 2020.
I recommend everyone receive either the Pfizer-BioNTech (16 years and older) or Moderna (18 years and older) vaccinations. Of course there are exceptions to vaccination especially if you have a history of severe allergic reactions that you’ll need to discuss with your primary care physician.
Please Note:
- I am not telling people to vaccinate their children as indicated by the age ranges for both vaccines.
- I do not advise parents to never vaccinate their children.
- If you think I am against vaccinations you need to reread my book.
- If we don’t all take coronavirus seriously, things are going to get much, much worse and many more people will die.
